Stake Conference

Today was our Stake Conference. Our Stake is so big that there was 3 different sessions. Each of the Wards were assigned a time for a session. Ours was from 1:30 to 3:15. They told us that each session was full. Wow that is a lot people in our stake! The Stake Choir was awesome and so were all the speakers.

We were all able to go. I am so proud of my boys. They were so good. We did not have to go in the room with noisy kids. I was able to listen to all of the talks.
Afterwards our Ward had a social with fruit, cookies, and drinks. It was nice.
I have had a nice day today.

How can I

You might want to stop my playlist at the bottom of my page so you can hear the music and words to this song. Enjoy

I love this song and wanted to share it with you all.

making cookies

Today T-, J-, and I made sugar cookies today.

They both wanted me to take a picture with Randy's chief hat on.

T- added all the stuff. I think they enjoyed being able to roll out the dough and using the cookie cutters.

Oh where could it be?

Don't you hate it when you misplace something? Specially when it is some thing that you use all the time like your keys or even your wallet. It is so frustrating. Well that has happened to me at times... In fact right now I am missing one of the above. I know that I had it the other day in my pocket. GGRRRR! It is so upsetting. I do not use a purse a lot. That's what pockets are for right? I know it is somewhere in the house... at least I hope.
When keys are misplaced I just use the spare but the Van has a special key and cost a lot to replace and we only have two of them, so I just use Randy's van key and we trade off when he takes the van.
Now misplacing your wallet is another story. Your licence, debit card, and cash is in there. You can't buy anything. Or go anywhere in fear that it would be the time you get pulled over. I feel so "Stuck" when that happens.

My outdoor attire

This is my attire for collecting sweet in the hot sun while doing yard work.

While giving Judi a night off from cooking for the family, I broke out my BBQ attire that I got for my birthday. (Judi thinks it was "sexy") I BBQed for the family tonight. "One of my past times when I am off." Judi loves when I do it.

1st day of school

Today was the first day of school. The kids were really excited.

C- is now in the 4th grade.

T- is in Kindergarden.

J- still has to wait one more year. But he was really excited and has been carrying around the backback. Randy was off so we all walked to school.

J- had fun playing with T- on the playground. When the bell rang J- ran and got his backpack and lined up just like he belonged there. He was really heartbroken when he could not go in with T-. Poor guy!

The PTA had a "Boo Hoo Breakfast" for the parents of the Kindergarten. There was doughnuts, yogurt and juice served. I did not have a hard time at all seeing T- go in. But J- sure did. But he forgot all about it when he saw the doughnuts and juice. Bryce's mom was there so I got to talk and catch up on life with her. I thought the breakfast was a good idea and it was fun to be with parents that it was their child's first day of school.

Randy, J- and I took our time enjoying our walk home.

Now to take care of the tons of housework. Summer does wonders on a house. Anyone want to help?

Routine

This next Monday school starts again. So I have been trying to get C- and T- back into the routine of going to bed by 8. So I needed to get on the ball and make sure that we eat at a reasonable time. I also decided to get J- into the same routine. Both C- and T- have been going to bed during schooltime at 8 since age of 3 because of Preschool but I had not yet gotten J- into the routine so no time like now. Right? We started this Monday but it did not quite work. Randy was off and was playing with the kids in the back yard and it is not that often that he is home to play. So I just let them all play. They finally was in bed by 9. Randy read to J- in his room and I read to C- and T- in C-'s room. Randy fell asleep before J-. (Poor guy. All that hard work) They did not settle down until almost 10. J- was having a hard time that night.
Tuesday was a little better but not much. J- still had a hard time, but I kept putting J- in his bed when he came out to were I was.
Wednesday was Boy Scouts so dinner was a later then I wanted, and then the neighbor wanted to play with C-, and T-. So they once again went to bed later then I wanted then to.
Thursday was better but still had some whining about going to bed at that time.
Tomorrow we met the kids teacher 8 in the morning.
I hope I can get up that early. I also have been trying to go to bed early to because it will affect me to. I sure am not in the same routine of when I was younger.... going to bed by 9 each night.

My sisters, my friends

I thought that I would write a blog about my sisters. I have 3 sisters. There is 20 months between Lisa and I, 4 years between Jeanne and I and 10 years between Kim and I. We did not get along all the time growing up. Especially before our teenage years. But then something happened when we became teenagers. We got along better. Sure we still fought but not as often. I shared a room the most with Jeanne. I remember one time we got in a huge pillow fight and feathers were flying everywhere. When were switched out our bed there was still some under our bed and that was years after the fight.
With each one of my sisters there is a special bond. I know that each one of would do anything for the others. There is times when I really miss my sisters. Lisa and Kim still live in California not to far away from each other. But Jeanne and I are in different states but I am 6 hours away from all 3 of them. I always say that I am the "pit stop" between California and Utah.
When I think of one word to describe Lisa I would say hearts. Hearts to me is a symbol of love, caring, kindness, fun, protector and giving. Lisa is all of these. She loves to sent things to my sons when it is their birthday, Christmas time, and she makes sure that they have some school supplies. She loves to call and talk to Christopher on the phone. I know that he loves it too. A lot of times I don't even get to talk to her or my mom when they call.
I think the best times that I had with her was when we were in Young Adult Ward and Sorority together. Now those where so fun times. Lisa got married 7 months before me, but still lived in the same city. For some reason we did not see a lot of each other. Then I moved away and it is even less seeing each other.

I can't describe Jeanne in one word. She is so fun to be around and she makes sure you are having fun too. I use to tease her about wearing stripes and flowers together. I guess unique, one of a kind describes her. She's... Jeanne. She and I have some things in common... both start with "J's" and married someone that starts with "R's", have 3 children, and we both love to dance. She knows how to laugh when life if hard. She is one strong tough woman.
Growing up I would hope that she thought we were close. She along with all my sisters has a special place in my heart.
Jeanne was the first one to get married and move away. I think that I had a hard time after she moved. For a time before she got married we were not really getting along and she was going thur life changing events in life.

The one word that describes Kim is laughter. She is the one that makes me laugh the most. She just knows how to do it. But I did not discover that until years later. You have to remember there is quite a few years between us. So we did not share teenage years together. I think one of my favorite memories with her was chasing a blimp around town. It was out of the blue and fun to do. I think that Kim felt left out at times because her older sister got to do things that she did not. But now she is the life of the party.

I am so lucky to have the sisters that I have. I hope that we will always remain close. I can't imagine life with out each one of them. There was one time we were all together and laughing that one of my sisters fell out of her chair and another sisters side and back was hurting from laughing so hard. Laughter does wonders. I have a lot of fond memories with all my sisters. I consider all my sisters my friend also. I love you all!!

Dodger trip

This last Monday we left to go to California to see a baseball game on Tuesday. The Dodgers play against the Phillies. We stayed at my parents house Monday and Tuesday night. When we arrived my parents, Lisa, Kim and Aaron were there. We ate dinner and then had FHE, and then we had birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate Randys birthday. It was fun seeing everyone.

After I had the kids asleep I stayed up talking to Lisa and Keith. Lisa and I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning. Why is it that we do that? Because we love to catch up on each others lives. But we pay for it later.

The next day was the game. It was a night game but we wanted to go to Griffith Park so we left around noon and ate lunch there at the park.

We wanted to go to the Griffith Observitory but we went to the Gene Autry Museum instead. We were not able to see all of the museum so next time we go to a game we are planning on seeing the rest of it. T- and J-loved seeing a Cowboy. They even got to dress up like cowboys.

Then on to the game. We were early so were able to park really close. Randy got the "all you can eat" tickets. Before the game Randy was able to do something that he has never done before... he was able to watch batting practice on a designated fenced in area on the field. I think the kids loved being able to eat all the Dodger Dogs, soda, and nachos they could. I felt sorry for the 2 guys on the end of seats because the kids or Randy or I had to keep getting up for something. For most of the game the score was pretty close but at the last second the Dodgers scored and won the game. Really excited at the point. The final score was 4 to 3. GO DODGERS!!!!

Randy loves to get signitures on his bats and baseballs. So the rest of us waited in the van after the game while he did this. I call Randy a "autogragh seeker".
We did not arrive back at my parents until 1 in the morning. Lisa was up waiting up for us. To my surprise Randy stayed up with us till 3. I had found out that the night before Lisa was not able to get sleep before she went to work, so she must of been really tired by Wednesday. I hope you got more sleep Lisa.

Wednesday before we left Randy and I wanted to see the 2-story Target with the escalator for your cart that goes up and down. It was cool!

We left to go home soon after that. When we were in Baker we made a little stop down the road. We saw were my brother possible had to hike for the Kelso hike. It that must of been one hot and hard hike.

We made it home in one piece with no harm happening to us! We all had a good time.

Randy's Birthday

I just wanted to wish Randy a Happy Birthday today. You are awesome honey! Thanks for all you do for use. I found a project on my computer in my Scrapbooking program of a Newspaper that I could write about Randy. Here it is. You problem can not read it but it is overview Randy's life from birth to now. I had to call his mom for some details of when they lived where. I even put how his mom describes him to people that don't know him. I think he enjoyed it. Now onto the Dodger game. I will take pictures and do a blog on it next when we return. Happy Birthday Randy.

Memory Game

1. Add a comment on our blog, leave one memory that you and Judi, or Randy or one of the kids had together. It doesn't matter if you knew us a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about us, we'll assume you're playing the game and we'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Sleep or lack of

Sleep... What I can't do right now. While my whole family is fast asleep I lay awake trying to get some sleep. So I get up in hopes writing a blog will make me tired. For some reason my sleep habits have change. I think it started when the boys got out of school for the summer. I stay up late waiting for Randy to came home after his very long day at work. He day starts at 4:30 AM when the alarm goes off. Off to his 1st job he goes. Around 2ish he comes home eats and tries to relax a bit. Then off to his second job at 3:30. He comes home around 10:30... if he is lucky... if not then after midnight... eats dinner if not to tired and heads to bed to start all over again. I do not know how he does it. I guess it helps that he does not have to work early on Wednesdays and Sundays. So he gets a little break then.
So because I have been going to sleep later I tend to sleep until around 9 or later if I am lucky. But if I do that the kids have already taken over the house and have some cleaning up to do after them.
Growing up I was usally the first one to got to bed, without being asked. I was in bed by 9PM. But not anymore. One thing I really miss is being able to sleep in on Saturdays. But life changes when you have children. My children do not believe in sleeping in. What is wrong with them? So when will they? Probably when they are teenagers.... I hope.

Maybe I am excited about going to California. We are going this next Monday. We are going because Randy has this tradition to go to a Dodger game for his birthday. So I know I am going to see my family at least one time a year. This year Randy is turn a mildstone age.
So Randy just came out to see what I was doing.... So I am getting tired now so off to bed I go. Wish me luck. Happy dreams... I hope.

Yesterday

Yesterday we all went up to St. George. We dropped off the kids at Cami and Andrew's. Then my mother-in-law, Randy and I went up to Cedar to visits Randy's younger brother, Cory. It has been a while since Randy and I have seen him. Who knows when the next time will be when we will see him again. We made a special trip up there just to see him. I think he was happy to see us. He was looking good. While Randy was talking to Cory, Veloy and I were talking about how good he looks I was telling her how I have always loved Corys hair and wished that Randy would let his hair grow out. Sitting there watching him while talking to his mom and Randy made me think that I sure do take the freedom that I have for grant it. He life has been forever changed because of some choices he has made in life. I am sure it must be really hard on Veloy to see the result of his choices.

Then we went to the new In-and-Out in Washington. That tasted to good.

Randy went to get the kids while I was trying to help Veloy look up things on Find a Grave web site and I showed her the Family search web site. She was happy that we found her grandma on there.

Randy got into watching a movie and it was late when it was over so we decided to spend the night and leave early Sunday morning. So about midnight we put the sleeping kids in bed and both Randy and I headed for bed but shortly after my Mother-in - law came in and wanted to know if I wanted to watch a movie with her. So I did but we wound up watching two movies...Cutting Edge. So by the time I got into bed it was 4 our time but 5 her time, but of course I could not fall alseep so it probably took me about half hour to fall sleep. Staying up late reminded me of growing up and it never failed every Sunday Night Jeanne and I would stay up late to watch the Hallmark movies. But we would not stay up till 4, thank goodness.

So Randy had me set the alarm for 7 our time. I was so tired when we got up. Randy drove home. We left around 8 our time. I was so tired that I slept from Mosquite to home, wake up enough to walk to bed and slept until 11;45. I got ready for church. Man what a short trip that was.
